As a Level 3 BTEC Health and Social Care student, completing my placement with Trowbridge Future has been an amazing and genuinely rewarding experience. From my first day, I felt welcomed straight away. The staff are so friendly, supportive, and approachable, which made settling in much easier. They always take the time to explain things properly and encourage me to get involved, helping me build my confidence every day.
Being part of the Craft Cafés, Kindness Cafés, and Community Fridges has shown me how important community spaces are. These projects do so much more than people might realise. They create safe, inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and listened to. I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories. Everyone is easy to get along with, and there’s such a warm and positive atmosphere. It’s inspiring to see how simple conversations and small acts of kindness can have such a big impact on someone’s day.
This placement has helped me develop key skills that are essential in health and social care, especially communication, teamwork, and empathy. I’ve learned how important it is to listen without judgement and to treat everyone with dignity and respect. It has also helped me grow in confidence, as I feel more comfortable speaking to new people and supporting others.
Overall, I’m really enjoying my time at Trowbridge Future. It’s a supportive, welcoming environment that truly makes a difference in the community. I feel proud to be part of such a positive team, and this experience has strengthened my passion for working in health and social care in the future.
