New Trowbridge project invites residents to help shape the future of local physical activity.
A new community-focused project is launching in Trowbridge with a simple aim: to help more people move more, in ways that work for them and the people of Trowbridge are being invited to help shape it from the very start.
The project brings together Wiltshire and Swindon Sport, Wiltshire Council, Trowbridge Town Council, Trowbridge Future, and a wide range of local partners, community organisations, and delivery groups. It is supported by Sport England and aligns with a place-based approach to tackling inactivity.
At its heart, the project is about listening to Trowbridge.
Rather than delivering a single programme, the initiative will focus on supporting local ideas, building on what already exists, and helping community groups, clubs, charities, schools, health partners and informal organisations create opportunities for people to be active, whether that's walking, social sport, gentle movement, fitness, play, or something completely new.
Calling for ideas from community groups and organisations
Community groups, voluntary organisations, clubs, schools, health and wellbeing organisations, faith groups and local partners are encouraged to start thinking about new ideas to help people move more. See the attached link for funding towards new projects.
